ne1 using 21\" LCD monitor?
I'm currently using 3 19" Samsung LCD monitors with a Matrox Parhelia and am pretty happy with the setup. However, if I want to watch all the action on all the tables without overlap, I only put two tables per screen (one in each corner). I'm putting so many hours in per week now that I'm considering getting a 21' LCD monitor and put 4 tables on one monitor.
I'm just wondering if anyone has done exactly this and can comment on how the resolution looks? As you know with LCD monitors you want to use the enative resolution, and my 19" native is 1280x1024. The Samsung 213T 21" LCD monitor runs 1600x1200 natively. My main concern originally with going with one large vs. 3 medium monitors is so I could multitask, and also I've used 20" CRT monitors before at 1600 and web browsing was miserable.... although now that I'm doing poker full time, I could use my 21" only for poker and not for my other tasks. Any input welcome. |

The resolution on it is awesome, and is perfect for poker. 4 screens will fit fine with minimal, very minimal overlap (such as the table description on top may be covered), although I do not play with 4 tables (not that good yet). I can browse 2+2 on it and play 1 or 2 tables very very comfortably. |

I can pivot mine from landscape to portrait mode. This turns my 1280x1024 into 1024x1280. I can easily see two full tables in this layout. |

Re: ne1 using 21\" LCD monitor?
I have a 21" Dell P1110 (Sony Trinitron tube) and an NVIDIA GeForce2 MX adapter. NVIDIA recently upgraded their firmware to allow 1800 x 1440 resolution which the Dell supports. You can have four tables open with a small area on the sides and bottom of the screen available to view another window (if you literally want to read 2+2 and play 4 tables simultaneously for example).

Re: ne1 using 21\" LCD monitor?
I have a 19" which can handle 16X12 and so put 4 tables up, no overlap. I rarely do this however because the high resolution slows the graphics to a crawl. That may not be a problem if you're playing 4 on Party, not sure, but Pacific and Inter slow things down, and I think Paradise also has slow graphics.

Re: ne1 using 21\" LCD monitor?
you prob already know this but if you turn off the animation and the players that are in the chairs it helps alot. i turn off all animation at party.

Re: ne1 using 21\" LCD monitor?
Yes, Party and skins are no problem, but I play more on Pacific and Intercasino, which use very slow anim, so that with 4 tables, Pac will often disconnect me. I don't think faster video cards will help, because they are designed to use DirectX or OpenGL, which I'm pretty sure Pac doesn't use, but the Windows graphics, which is stone-age. I have cable modem, but only 100 kbs (cheaper), so maybe 1 meg kbs will help - also have 2.5 gig Celeron, so maybe faster processor will help - I'll know someday, when I get to 5/10 I should be able to afford all the extras .

Re: ne1 using 21\" LCD monitor?
LCD resolution does not even come close to the quality that you will get with a CRT.
You are, however welcome to waste your money. |

Re: ne1 using 21\" LCD monitor?
pray tell, what "resolution quality" are you referring to?
