Default I should\'ve mucked, but.....

Let me just say that I normally would muck this hand, but the table was so friggin' passive I decided to mix it up just a bit...

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, Hero calls, CO calls, Button folds, SB folds, BB checks.

Flop: (3.50 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, CO folds, BB calls.

Turn: (3.75 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

River: (5.75 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB folds.

Final Pot: 6.75 BB
Main Pot: 5.75 BB, won by Hero.
Pot 2: 1 BB, overbet by Hero.

Results in white below:
Hero shows 9d Ac (one pair, nines).
Outcome: Hero wins 6.75 BB.

I guess my big question is whether anyone here does play A9o? I noticed in Lee's WLLHE he mentions raising with the hand sometimes (I realize limping pf here was a much weaker play than raising or folding), so I just wanted to get some kind of group consensus on whether this hand can be profitable at all, or whether it should be mucked ~ 100% of the time.

This is bad play before the flop.

If I'm going to play this hand, I'd want to do it against as few players as possible, so I'd bring it in for a raise and hope to fold out CO and Button. The limp is inviting players who have position on you to come along for the ride, and your hand is too vulnerable to let that happen.

But I'd probably just muck it. A loose passive table might justify your limping in with something like 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] here; A9o is another matter.

Ugh.

If you're bored, read a book. Don't play A9o outside the blinds unless you're stealing.

If I played it it would be for a raise after a weak limper and probably one seat closer to the button with tight blinds. Basically, I want to be heads-up with position against a weak player. But I'd probably fold.

Postflop is routine.

If you are going to open with A9o from 2 off the button it better be for a raise.

Rest of the hand is straight foward enough.

Why would you limp with it here? What's the reasoning? If im playing this, i'm openraising.

Whether to play in general? Depends on the table and the players behind me.
