Empire VIP: Score one for the Zoo!
Empire has finally announced its formula for earning points for its VIP Club.
Why they couldn't tell us before, I don't know, as it isn't very complicated. It is, however, strange (as you might expect). It is the square root of raked hands. If you're a VIP member already, then double it. How bizarre. If that is so, then it would seem to encourage table hopping. For SnGs, every $2 in rake gets 1 vip point. For multitable tourneys, every $1 in rake gets 1 vip point. Square root is just such a dumb formula. 9 raked hands would get 3 points, but to get two more points, you'd have to play 16 more hands. Dumb. |

Re: Empire VIP: Score one for the Zoo!
So to become a VIP member you have to play
25,000,000 raked hands. Playing all day I can just clip 3000 hands a day so that would be a minimum of 22 years of play. |

All I know if that I've accumulated over 1000 points in the last month and know I haven't played 1,000,000 raked hands in that time period (or even 250,000 since I am a VIP). Where did ou find this info? Is it on their site? |

Re: Empire VIP: Score one for the Zoo!
This has to be the only rewards program in the world that penalizes playing more. Truly brilliant!

Re: Empire VIP: Score one for the Zoo!
No, the square root is done once per day.
If you played 400 hands/day that would be 20 points/day, for 250 days or about 8 months. Playing 1000 hands/day would cut that down to 5 months of play. |
