AC trip
Hello All,
We're planning a trip to Atlantic City later this month and would like to know where a good place to play and stay would be. Looking to not spend too much on rooms. (as we'll probably spend a good majority of the time in the poker rooms) We'll be there from friday night, leaving sunday morning. From what I can gather, the Borgata, the Taj and Tropicana offer the most as far as poker goes. Can someone confirm this? We're low limit holdem players, though I might want to try my hand at some stud and/or Omaha. Also, some people in our party are not going to be playing much poker. Any options for them? |

Re: AC trip
Thanks MG.
I did do a search already and found out most of what I need to know about the poker rooms. Let me reiterate my request. I'm looking for a cheap hotel that would be close to the preferable card rooms. From the looks of it, weekend rates are much higher than the specials available midweek. Does anyone know of a low-cost hotel (where safety won't be a problem)? Perhaps somewhere might have a poker room rate (min requirements?) ... or a special that I wouldn't have found online, etc. Any help would be appreciated. We're trying to keep the cost low, we're taking a friend down there for a "pre-marital event" |

You can find a reasonable priced hotel on Route 30 in Absecon. Do a google search and you will find something. You will spend less than $70 a night. |

Re: AC trip
Call the casino directly and ask to be connected to the poker room. Ask them about poker rates on comp programs.
I think the Trop has an $89 weekend rate (4 hours play required) plus you get upto $2/hour comp value for playing. BTW, if this is a bachelor party why not splurge. Paul |

The only drawback is that the Trop is clearly the worst of the 3 major poker rooms. |

[/ QUOTE ] That's a matter of opinion. If you're strictly there for low-limit, the Trop is a pretty decent choice. Not as many tables, but it doesn't have the insanely long waiting lists of the Trop or the sea of human filth of the Taj. |

the sea of human filth of the Taj. [/ QUOTE ] While I can't disagree with this statement, its tremendously odd to hear it coming from someone who plays at the Trop. Half the guys in the race book sit on the poker tables and half of them have toilet paper sticking out of the back of their pants and smell like the part of the TP you can't see isn't so clean. |
