Did I play my flush draw too weak?
4-8.
3 limpers to me with 7s8s in the CO and I call. Blinds come along and 6 see the flop. Flop: As Js 6h. Blinds check, EP bets, MP raises, MP2 folds, I fold. |

Re: Did I play my flush draw too weak?
Hey Clark,
What would be the lowest suited connector you raise with preflop in this situation. I ask because I often find myself raising T9s here from the CO. Was it an option with 87s against those limpers and blinds? GoT |

Me thinks you forgot to mention this was the mini-blinds game at mandalay.
You're still close but with jackpot drop and rake, why bother. |

No, full blinds at the Bellagio.

Re: Did I play my flush draw too weak?
Then yes.
Do you put one of them on a set? or a bigger flush draw? Blinds love to bet flush draws into the crowds, EP may do the same but I'd more likely think he has a weak ace. The only way I'm folding here is if I'm nearly certain there is a bigger flush draw out, or if I'm fairly certain all hell is about to break loose and this is gonna be capped here, and on the turn and I'm gonna have to pay 6 BBs to see if I get there. Either condition true? |

Re: Did I play my flush draw too weak?
4.5:1 on your call here to see the turn, so you have the odds.
I think EP caught a piece of the flop, and MP did too...raising to make it expensive for the flush drawers. I think your flush draw is a winner here and you are less than a 2:1 dog to hit it by the river. You could also raise here and make it VERY expensive for the blinds to hang around if they have any diamonds over yours. Also depends greatly on your opponents...would MP raise with a flush draw here to pump up the pot and/or push out those behind him to buy the button? I think the fold is OK too...but you had an envelope to push if you wanted to if your read on the opponents is similar to what I'm thinking initially above. |

Why even see the flop if you are going to play it like this? |

Re: Did I play my flush draw too weak?
As long as I have been around, I don't think I have ever considered you to play anyhand weakly, so I am guessing that there is something you are not telling us.
On first blush, it looks as if you ahve the odds to see the turn unless you fear a reraise behind. maybe you think that the raiser would only raise a flush draw here. Maybe this was not your hand. If you don't fear the re-raise and you don't have a very specific read, then yes, it was weak. |

Re: Did I play my flush draw too weak?
I think I would just call the raise here. You are going for the flush and the more the merrier so to speak. A 3bet may knock some out and I want them to stick around.
By playing these cards preflop I'd assume you are going for the straight or the flush. You got it so why stop now? Jim |

Re: Ok Lucy - hold the ball for me
I feel a little like Charlie Brown getting ready to kick.
Let's see, you have last position. The Ace of your suit came taking out anyone playing Axs. The fact that they bet and raised means they probably paired at least one card or have a set. Any combination of pairs or sets means they don't play in a flush unless it goes runner-runner spade. If they both have sets drawing to a full house, there aren't a whole lot of cards to pair the board with. It also means the deck is richer in spades. They could be betting a royal flush draw, but that's seeing monsters under the bed. IMHO, I don't get folding. Since I know you a strong player, please pull away the football and tell me where I am wrong. |
