Re: AQo in late middle.
PF raise i think is absolutely fine. but what would you do if 3-bet?
why are you betting the flop? checking here is what i'd usually do. you've missed. Of course, the rest is clockwork, and you got 3SB more than i would! But really, betting the flop? why? All the best, Pete |

Re: AQo in late middle.
Given that it would be ok to call a bet on the flop with two overcards, I don't see a problem in opening with a bet here.

Just out of curiosity, why did you post this? Was there a particular street you weren't sure of?

Re: AQo in late middle.
Personally i like the raise preflop. Most of the time these players are limping in with absolute trash so might as well charge them while holding the most likely best hand.
Flop bet could be debated. I would of probably checked with that flop. If no danger cards fall then i wouldnt be surprised to see a tricky blind bet out with a small pair or maybe even a 5. If someone bet out on the flop then its an obvious call because you are getting more than the 7:1 odds to check out the turn. Other than the flop, its pretty much a routine hand. |

RESULTS
I posted this because MP1 showed down Ah Kh and it pissed me off. No other reason. I said to myself "well, at least he extracted the minimum." And then I said to myself "pooooooooop."

Re: RESULTS
All I can say is, wow. AKs from middle position and no raise. He flops a draw to the nut flush, and check/call. Then get's top pair with the best kicker, still check/call. That would have warranted a wtf from me as well I think.
This wasn't me was it? |

Checking the flop is extremely passive, and if you are going to play that way, then you might as well not even raise pre-flop. There are more than 6 cards that make AQo a solid hand on the flop, and checking does nothing but let hands like J9, JT, and KJ, that might otherwise fold, catch up to you. I think if you don't see why he bet this flop, you should really work on becoming more aggressive. |

Re: RESULTS
I've seen this sort of thing a few times in the last few weeks. On more than one occasion someone flopped a set and only called my bets with TPTK. I didn't know whether to be pissed or thankful.
If he'd seen you showing a lot of winning hands this session, he may have assumed you had a set. |
