Default do you call here?

5-5 pl 10 straddle everyone has over 2k. limp, limp, i limp w/99, kid whos on a serious run lately (probably won 100k tournaments and cash) limps, button crazy armenian guy raises to $50 just me and the kid call. flop A94 2 hearts. i check (armenian is a guaranteed bet and wont lay down an ace so i want to build a pot that will break him), kid checks, armenian bets $50 (duh), i make it $200, kid makes it $600, armenian folds (angry of course), i go all-in kid calls immediately with A9. everyone seemed to think the kid couldn't get away from his hand, i thought it was an easy fold, maybe i'm too tight.

the kid says lets run 'em twice, i heard a guy say he folded an ace so i call for 3 times knowing i locked up 2/3...first card off is the case ace...now the kid tells me i'm lucky?

classic story, really

tough beat on the case A, but given the kid is on run I'd expect to call with A9 if he's willing to raise you.

If I were on a ridiculous run like that kid, I probably would call. Personally, probably not, though it would depend on my read on your playing style.

Tough beat.

the kid says lets run 'em twice,

I've never fully understood what this means. Can someone explain?

They flip over the turn and river, then they drop the turn and river again. If you win both hands, you take the pot, win one and you split.

why call a raise with A9 if you're going to fold top two on the flop?

i'm not defending his play, but i sure as hell wouldn't expect to see him fold there even for another 1400 and change.

You are in the right game, Limon. And no, you are not too tight. Did the kid have any hearts? (I sense that he did not).

Tough laydown, but I when you check-reraise and then get reraised all-in, top two starts looking less fun. I guess it depends a little bit on whether or not he could account for Ah.

Explain this to me? Around here when we deal it again we reintroduce the river and/or turn into the deck, so its entirely possible to lose to the same card over and over again. Is this done differently in CA?

When is this typically done? In situations where you need 1-2 outs would you suggest this?
