Yeah, I don't make that PF call with only two players in.

Being a newbie, this might be wrong - I'm always open to comments on my recommendations. I think rather than checking on the flop I might have bet to try and steal the pot, given the retinence of everyone to get in and no calls with the A in the flop. I may be saying this because of hindsight knowing that the 9 came on the turn, but I think given no calls, with a pair w/A kicker in hand and a (weak) draw to a flush, I might have given it a bet. Would this be wrong?

Interesting question. Perhaps somebody else will tackle it. My view is no. With five outs to 2 pair or trips and backdoor flush and straight draws, it might be worth a call. But I think the chance of taking this pot here with a bet against 4 opponents is miniscule and my draws are weak and the pot is small--I like the free card.

Mp3 turned over A-10 for a better 2 pair. And how nice of him not to extract any more money from me.

I think the preflop call is fine, see this post by Major Kong and his follow up answer.

A flop bet here would be approximately EV=0 if we assume that your flush/str8/2-pair/trips will be good if they hit. With that in mind, I think a bet is good because you can then take the free card if an 8 or a second [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] falls. That would probably tilt it to slightly +EV.

I don't think it's too loose of a call from the CO. You're in late position with a suited one gap. With no raise in front I like the call. When you hit the two pair I also like the raise. If he's now betting the draw, you want to make him pay. If he's betting an pair on the flop that he didn't like until it was checked around, all the better for you.

Its a bad call. You should fold here with only two callers in front of you. See what can happen when u get mixed up with trash like that. You flop bottom pair, kinda like it when it gets checked to you cause some dumbass is trying to check raise with top two pair. Thats why a bet on the flop would have been good. When u get raised you can safely fold if not u probably bought yourself a free card on the turn.
