Anyone Read T.J. Cloutier/Tom McEvoy\'s Pot/No Limit Hold \'em?
No one seems to be recommending Cloutier & McEvoy's "Championship Pot Limit & No Limit Hold 'em" in either this or the Pot/No Limit forum so I was wondering if there were a reason. Is there?

[/ QUOTE ] Maybe that's b/c there are better offerings out there, which there are. Particularly Ciaffone/Reuben's book on the subject. If you are concerned with tournament play, then add Tournament Poker For Advanced Players to the list as a must. Then, get around to reading Super/System. I think any book is worth a read b/c you will find something useful out of it. So, I'm not saying don't read the book you are discussing, but read these others first for sure. |

Stew, thanks for your excellent recommendations
I've actually read the books you recommend and agree that all three are outstanding. And it's for just the reason that you give that I'm researching books I haven't read much about. Again, thanks.

Re: Anyone Read T.J. Cloutier/Tom McEvoy\'s Pot/No Limit Hold \'em?
I found TJ/Tom's book very helpful back when I was a beginner at NL, and had no clue what to do in a NL tourney. Upon rereading it recently, I can see that there's not a lot to recommend it if you're looking for an advanced NL text. Actually, I'm beginning to think a lot of advanced NL tourney concepts can't really be taught in book form. There are books that can teach you how to play tennis, but there are no books that can teach you how to play like Andre Agassi.
