Choicepoker will probably close down in near future
Choicepoker is an absolute ghost town.
Last time I checked there were 7 people logged in. I don't see how they can last very long, they won't be making enough money to pay for overhead. Their dumb rebate program only counts the hands where you actually put money in the pot. It's horrendous if you're a solid player who sees ~20% of flops. People should not join or deposit money into choicepoker. They're not making money and they will probably close down. After they go bust, they may very well go the way of dutch boyd. |

Re: Choicepoker will probably close down in near future
Assuming online poker sites work like many other businesses there shouldnt be much problem.
When a business starts up they usually dont expect to make money instantly or even break even. That is why part of the business plan is to start with enough funds to make it through a rough start. I am guessing even if choice never makes a single dollar it will be open over a year. Secondly, I hope that Choice was smart enogh to have players accounts money held seperate so that in the event they go bankrupt your money doesnt go with it. Hopefully the choice poster can confirm this. rJ |

Is this the measuring stick for a solid player? Cup |

Re: Choicepoker will probably close down in near future
I did not get a good vibe there. My first cashout took two days, the second took MUCH longer. When you cashout it says 96 hours. Not a good thing for a new room. One place I play at is just as small that cashes out in less then an hour during business hours and another mid sized that takes just a few hours no matter what time of day. Why 96 hours? I didnt even bother to try and work off my last $50 in promo $$.

Re: Choicepoker will probably close down in near future
No, but I would say that an average of seeing 20% of flops (assuming a typical, full game) is an attribute common to most solid players. Some may see 25%-30%, but the point is still valid.
I don't think the original poster was attempting to imply that seeing 20% of flops itself makes you a solid player. Mooney |

Re: Choicepoker will probably close down in near future
Jedi-
You are right in your accessments. Any online poker room opening today should expect to see a loss before seeing a profit. Thats true with almost any business. And certainly we keep players funds seperate from marketing funds. I expect that most all poker rooms are wise enough to understand the importance of that. As to the originator of this thread, we personally did not see her/his comments as necessary of a response. Its unfortunate that while we attempt to support and encourage this forum, there are members who are so negative as Elizabeth for no apparent reason but to try to incite. I think this is precisely why other representatives from other poker rooms have expressed to me there reasoning for not attempting to have open dialog with players on this forum. Thats unfortunate because we think used properly a forum is a wonderful way to communicate. Best regards, Jon Comer |

[ QUOTE ] Re: Choicepoker will probably close down in near future [/ QUOTE ] Party Poker is probably going to close down sooner than later also. Their software definately has many fatal flaws that have been well documented here. Players have been fleeing in droves. At one table I was sitting at, the people that knew how to chat all said they got a free 50 bucks to play there. This shows desperation. How long can Party afford to keep giving customers 50 bucks just so they'll have people at their tables? Besides the people that were only there playing on their free 50 bucks, I suspect the rest of the players to be 'bots'. After myself and the other chatting players observed them, we all agreed something fishy was going on. Yeah, take away the bots and free money players, and Party Poker is an absolute ghost town. I don't see how they can last very long, they won't be making enough money to pay for overhead. People should not join or deposit money into Party poker. Re: Choicepoker will probably close down in near future
Pokeraddict,
I believe you communicated with our customer support staff on this issue. I believe they provided you with an explanation, but in case they did not I will answer your concern again. We originally did have a 48 hour cashout policy. We later changed it to 96 hours due to several players who were caught chip dumping on heads up tables. This was changed after the loss of thousands of dollars. We plan on changing this back in the future, but we must make decisions that are in the long term interest of our companies success. Obviously players want quick payouts. If our fraud prevention measures gives you a bad feeling we respect your decision not to play at ChoicePoker.com until the payout period is again 48 hours. Regards, Jon Comer |

Re: Choicepoker will probably close down in near future
This is actually the only response I received from Choice. I guess what you are saying is that 1 person bought in on a stolen credit card or charged back on you. This is unfortunate and I know a part of doing internet casino business. I cant think of any other way a chip dumping would matter since it gets raked. I know ACR had issues with chip dumping but it was because the promo system gave the cash to play with before it qualified to cash out, choice's PB system isnt like that.

Yeah. Don't worry about Elizabeth-Anne. Her ignorance and belligerence on these boards is more humorous than anything.
