Default boyd

Has anyone seen dutch boyd's little site?

He has a bizarre business plan.

He claims he's gonna start another poker room, this time without rake.

What a ludicrous idea. Can anyone here invent a system without rake/time payment?

Or maybe he's just playing games. He probably has no intention of starting another room. It seems like he's doing a bait and switch.

You could ask MSS, but you might get your head lopped off.

well if u would have bothered to read his plan on his site, u would see that instead of charging a rake, he plans to charge a fee of $30 a month. thats the "time payment" that u say is non existent

So the more knowledgeable players are going to stay away from this site because they hate Boyd and think he's a theif, and the fish are going to stay away from this site because the have to "pay" $30 a month.

I don't see this working very well.

I like the idea of a very low rake site but I read the business plan that Boyd put together and it is not realistic. First of all he fails to realize that it is much easier to take 1000 bucks in rake from someone .25 cents at a time than it is to take $30 all at once.

Secondly, he has this (pipe)dream of creating a legal U.S. based cardroom that only runs tournaments and can be accessed from bars, etc. Get real.

Thirdly, and most importantly, anyone who is stupid enough to give Dutch Boyd $10,000,000 deserves to lose it.

Again, I like the idea of a nearly rake free card room and I think it is possible for a cardroom to operate with 1/4 of the rake they are currently charging, but this idea is just stupid.

hey, i think trying to host a poker site without fish or good players is a challenge worthy of a man who graduated from law school at such a young age.

I know he's smart, and personally I don't hate him. But it takes more than brains to run a business, and he's starting in a hole.

Also, just think about it. Who realizes the value of rake free? The good players. What do the good players want? Game selection. The fish will not pay $30 a month to play poker.

I would imagine the odds of a deposit bonus would be slim too lol.
