As I sat folding over and over again with my friend, I began thinking. I asked him, "You can never get Aces or Kings again as your starting cards, BUT, you get three times as many Queens, Jacks, and AceKings as normal. Would you do it?" Is this worth giving up the two most powerful starting hands in Hold'em to get three times as many of the third, fourth, and fifth most powerful hand? He said he would do it but I'm not so sure I would. Any thoughts?

According to Poker Tracker, AA and KK are 51% of my combined earnings of all 6 (including AKs and AKo). |

Considering you are dealt AK a lot more than you are dealt the pairs, it seems to be a profitable trade.

i would keep my AA/KK, they are where most of my profit comes from, i would imagine that they are the most profit for most players...and its always nice to look at your cards and see two Aces

absolutely... as long as other players aren't made aware of it.

JJ, QQ, KK, AA, AK = profit made by each hand
6 JJ, QQ, KK, AA 16 AK 48AK + 18(JJ + QQ) = 6(AA + KK) 8AK + 3JJ + 3QQ = AA + KK so you're basically asking if it's more profitable in 14 hands to get 8 AK, 3 JJ, and 3 QQ, or AA and KK once each, and 12 random hands. It's pretty clear that this is a great deal. |

I agree completely.
How about a closer decision: would you trade your AA and KK's for three times as many QQ,JJ, AKs ? Or would you give up your AA's to be given 4x as many QQ's? |
