I don't think telling them I'm a prejudice against everybody or that I play poker online and need to build a bigger roll is gonna cut it. 1 day I can handle but 2 or more is too much

I think pretending to be a racist is the standard trick people use.
Well then I suppose the best solution is to not pretend. |

Mention that you're a supporter of the jury nullification doctrine during voi dire in a criminal case and you'll be one of the first preemptive challenges.
If you're in a civil case mention your strong religous convictions, at the core of which is your belief in a personal accountability that mandates one look in the mirror before seeking to cast blame on others. The plaintiff's attorney will thank you for your time and send you packing ASAP. |

I am 45 and never been on jury duty....It is easy really! Just do not open the envelope when it comes in the mail...just throw it away...they will send you another one...throw it away...then they will send you a real legal looking one...Ya throw that away too....they don't come after you.....just toss em! It works! Every few years you will have to do this.....

You could do your civic and democratic duty and become part of the judicial process. If you pass up this opportunity, you relinquish any right you have of complaining about your justice system and the judgements it hands down. Kinda like not voting; same analogy.
Try it. It's a fascinating experience to do once. Poker will be there when you're finished, trust me. |

I agree with you Buddha... i believe it is your civic duty. The legal system is only as good as those who go to jury duty. Also, you never know if you will get called for some high profile that will have that rewarding book deal or interview after the case is over.
