Hand #2 against Bob T (aka My Mouse Just Farted)
Same table as before. I am BB and Bob is UTG.
Party Poker 5/10 (10 handed) rharless has 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and is BB Bob (such a LAG) again raises. Four people cold-call, SB folds, rharless calls Flop(12 2/5 SB): 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] rharless bets, Bob T folds, two very very loose very very passive call, then two fold OK, now I am freaking out. I meant to (obviously) check that flop but my mouse slipped and bet. I feel dreadful because to me it is almost certain that Bob must have just folded the winner. My mind races for a way to not-showdown this hand, so that he can't see the hand with which I bet him out of the pot. It's just so mortifying. Sorry Bob. Turn(7 7/10 BB): J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Your action? |

Re: Hand #2 against Bob T (aka My Mouse Just Farted)
Yeah, based on the later action, this one hurt. I had pocket Queens, and when I got bet into, on an Acehigh drawless board, and a bunch of players left to act, I folded like a three legged cardtable. Although, I think I won enough on underpairs at this table. Letting this one go, probably wasn't a disaster.

Re: Hand #2 against Bob T (aka My Mouse Just Farted)
Now you are in a tough spot, those two would call with NE 2 cards, and functioning mouses. You could bet the turn, and river, and maybe win. Although you could also be behind a lot of hands, UTG called, called, called when he had pocket queens, so his range of calling hands was huge. (I thought my worst play of the night, was paying off UTG when he turned trip 9s, and raised the turn. Perhaps, his only turn raise of the night. ) I think I would check, and hope that one of them bet, and so you could slink quietly into the night with your hand.
Because I was in value betting only mode, and I assumed that you were also, when you checked the turn, I figured that you had had a mouse accident. |

Re: Hand #2 against Bob T (aka My Mouse Just Farted)
Yes, I guess we are the only ones who find this interesting. I do, because I wonder if I should continue through on my accidental bluff against two calling stations on a drawless board (that just sounds like a losing proposition). You find it interesting for obvious QQ reasons.
OK, so I checked the turn, and they both checked behind me. The river is now a total blank: ** Dealing River ** : [ 7s ] The pot is $74. Should I fire a last $10 into the pot now? |

Re: Hand #2 against Bob T (aka My Mouse Just Farted)
Nah, I'd check it. Trying to bluff 2 calling stations on the river after you checked the turn just seems like it wont work enough to be profitable. You might get called by no-pair hands, but in this case you don't really beat many of those either.

Re: Hand #2 against Bob T (aka My Mouse Just Farted)
I am pretty sure that the player that bet out on the river, had at least a pair, and he probably would have called a river bet. It is completely possible, that he had a bad ace, and was afraid of getting checkraised on the turn.

Re: Hand #2 against Bob T (aka My Mouse Just Farted)
Yeah, calling might have been better, but I didn't do that. I raised, and I folded. No calling here .

Check-fold and let Bob wonder what the heck happened. |

That's what I did. But afterwards I wondered if I should have tried to make the most of my mistake.
