Default Am I chasing here?

Hi

I have been playing for 3 months. In the first 2 months I started with the $15 GC bonus and was up to $600 playing .5/1 to 3/6. In the last month I am down $350 playing .5/1 & 1/2. I think this is normal variance I am probably down about 150 BB. When I was winning I was playing about 30% of the hands and folding after the flop about 30% of the time. As I tried to improve my game and tighten up Pre Flop (21%) I am worried I have become a chaser becasue I am in so less often. Here is my point-finally-

2 hands from GC .5/1

1)Ac Jd ep2
UTG - calls
I - raise
2 callers behind me
Pot is 4.5 SB

Flop Qc 10c 6d
sb - bet
utg - called
me - raise
everyone comes
8 BB
Question? I feel i have 8 outs- 4 K for st8, 3 A for top pair, and 1 out for backdoor flush. Pot is giving me 2:1, am i right in my thinking?

Turn 9d (Qc 10c 6d)
me - bet
sb - ch calls
everyone else folds

River
blank
I lose to KJ made st8

Hand #2)

Dealt QQ in sb
4 callers I call

Flop
5h Jc 9c

I bet
2 callers

Turn 2s (5h Jc 9c)
I Bet
2 callers

River 5d (5h Jc 9c 2s)
I bet
fold
raised uh- oh
called
Beat by 5 3 ( trips)

For my confidences' sake did I play this ok, just the joys of micro limit? This seems to be happening to me alot.

Thanks for listening, I'm sure this has never happened to anyone else.

RickA

Default Re: Am I chasing here?

You're not giving enough detail in your hands - you don't say what the river action was in Hand 1, and you don't give positions of the players who called.

Hand 1:

I only think a flop raise is good in hand 1 if it's trying to buy yourself a "free" card on the turn. Your Ace outs could esaily not be clean, as they might make someone a straight or a bigger 2 pair (turns out they weren't here). So I think you should check behind on the turn, as with a co-ordinated flop like this you're probably going to have to make your hand here, as a caller probably has some part of it. Also, you no longer have your flush draw on the turn. You don't say, but I hope you didn't call a bet on the river.

Hand 2:

Raise QQ from the SB. Was the 53 in the BB? He might have folded to your raise. Even if he wasn't, you want him to call you as it is +EV for you. You played the rest of the hand well.
