Ugly turn card. How do you play?
Yesterday at my local 20$/40$ limit game. A couple of loose calling stations, but also two or three tight players, who play pretty good (in my eyes at least).
Ok, here's the hand: I get 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] under the gun, and this time I limp (sometimes I will raise that hand). One player in late mp raises, SB call, BB calls, I call. Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB checks, BB checks, I check, MP bets, SB fold, BB calls, I call. Turn: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Damn, now I could be in trouble, but heck it's the case five, BB checks, I check, MP bets, BB calls, and I check-raise. MP folds, BB folds. I'm not very unpleased, with how I played it, I'm just wondering, how you guys played my hand. Another flat call at the turn, and then check-raise the river? All comments appreciated! |

Re: Ugly turn card. How do you play?
This is called slowplaying, with the intention of raising your oponnents on later, more expensive streets.

Re: Ugly turn card. How do you play?
I think the play is to call on the turn and bet out on the river if the BB checks.

Damn, now I could be in trouble...
The turn is NOT a scare card. You can't think like that. You're way way way ahead of most of the possible hands you're against. You played it well. -Scott |
