Default Amazing Party ruling for all-in abuse in PPM tourney

Just saw this on RGP:

Dear XXXX,

Congratulations again on your win in the Semi Finals for the PartyPoker.com
Million III. The cruise will be an exciting time for everyone and we wish
you the best of luck in the tournament.

We are writing to you to advise you of a situation that you may or may not
have witnessed that took place during the Semi Finals on Friday, January
3rd, 2004. This was the Semi Final where you won your set for the
PartyPoker.com Million III.

With only 28 players remaining, player "tweeterntz" was disconnected and
placed all-in at a key moment in the tournament. There were several
complaints from players that this was "all-in abuse" which prompted the
PartyPoker.com Investigations team to perform an in depth and detailed
investigation into the hand in question as well as the player's history.

We concluded that player "tweeternutz" did abuse the "all-in" protection
feature.

The management of PartyPoker.com has decided to NOT AWARD the cruise package
to player "tweeterntz", but instead award the cruise package to player
"DiamondsDave". Player "DiamondsDave" placed 28th in the Semi Finals and
was the only person affected by tweeterntz abusing the "all-in" at a crucial
moment in the tournament.

We are committed to ensuring that PartyPoker.com continues to be a fair and
safe place for everyone to play.

We look forward to seeing you on the Cruise.

Good Luck,

Investigations Team, PartyPoker.com

If this did indeed happen, I have to give Party major props on this one.

Cup

Maybe this is a sign of things to come? They get their all-ins worked out, and I am there. Right now, I play on UB, and I don't see as many issues are there are with Party. I still see them, but not as many.

A high profile policy change should help with this problem, but removing all-ins during tournaments would be better. IMO

How about a new "play at your own risk" and have no all-in protection in tournaments. Ring games could try out having some all-in protected tables and others that weren't protected. Just a thought.

I tend to ignore 2+2 for the faster and easier to navigate RGP but read this thread and thought i would make a few comments.
There are great things to come at PartyPoker.com. I recently moved to India to work full time with them on a variety of issues. Some of the things you will see addressed in the near future are:
Wait list for SNG's.
Two step process to remove all-ins from the tournaments.
Measures to curb stalling in multi table tournaments.
Lobby refresh
These are only a few of the things that I have on my list to fix/improve/implement/enhance.

If you have suggestions for things that are not "obvious" you can email them to me at rzitup@partypoker.com.

after i finally learned how to get to RGP I find it very hard to locate anything, but mike has been around here for a long time whenever anything important regarding party shows up.

He just had a name change. He used to be rzitup or some variation.

lol, good point. I didnt mean I dont like 2+2, it's just that every time I come here it takes me hours to fade through everything! The web based forums drive those of us who have no patience nuts!
As Cyndi said, I have been around for years. I stop by 2+2 probably once a week but have never posted that often.
