Default Reno Poker

I'm headed to Reno for New Years and am wondering where & what games are available. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I'm hoping to see some of the responses myself. It used to be that most casinos had a cardroom of some sort or another, but in recent year's they've become few and far between. I don't get up there a lot and I don't remember where I did find the games or else I'd tell you what I know.

If you don't get any advice here, you may want to do some advance scouting so you spend your time there trying to figure it out and spend your time and money (cab rides) trying to find a game.

Cap,
I bumped up a recent post for you.

I will be there 1-1 to 1-4. PM me if you'd like to meet and play a few hands.

Was there just last weekend. Played at the Hilton which had 3-6 and 4-8 limit holdem, and 1-3 stud.

And at the Nugget which just had 4-8 limit holdem I think. The floor person at the Nugget was very nice by the way.

The Peppermill has a great room. The big game runs every day and evening. It is hold-em and can be 10-20, 15-30, or 20-40 depending on ? (The higher limits are spread more often on the weekends). There is almost always one smaller holdem, maybe 3-6 or 4-8, and two of these are often spread on weekends. Then there will be one or two stud games at about 3-6 or 4-8.

You may be the only nonlocal at the table. There is a small town feel and lots of humor. The games are pretty soft.

Peppermill is a little out of the way and caters quite heavily to locals. I love it.

Bob

I'd suggest the Pepermill, the best game I found in town back in October was a 6/12 with a partial kill to 10/20 at the Hilton. They had to use 3 dealers and the poker room manager to keep it running though.

I agree with Bob Green about the Peppermill. I was out there in Nov. and stayed at the Pepermill for 4 nights. There is usually a 4/8 game starting around 10:30 or 11 and in the evening 2 or 3 4/8 games with a 10/20 or something similar going. Also was compped (spelling) about $20 off of my room each night ...So be sure they keep a record of your play..Sopmetimes you'll have as many as 3 dealers in one game to keep it going but they will willingly relinguish their seats as the players come in..Good Luck
