Default Why does party only have 1/2 and 5/10 or higher 6max tables?

Maybe this is the wrong forum, but, it makes me angry. I enjoy these games and am profiting big from playing three at once...however I am now way overbankrolled to be playing 1/2.
Why don't they have 2/4 or 3/6? Is it something to do with the rake?

I am almost positive that I saw both 2/4 and 3/6 6 MAX tables while playing today. Maybe I am losing my mind.

Its strange, I mailed them and said they should start shorthanded in between 1/2 and 5/10 and they said: thank you, we will think about it.

Mail them, if enough do it, maybe they will start.

I have asked the same question of other Party players recently, and none of us could come up with a single reason explaining the lack of 2/4 and 3/6 6-max tables. In fact, since 6-max tables generate rake faster than 10 handed, they're theoretically losing money by not having them available.

Go figure.

They had a ton of extra 15-30 6-max tables (normally they only have 3, but yesterday during the day they had 12 or so) open yesterday. They were all removed by the evening. Probably the same thing w/ the tables you saw.

Ah, maybe they're testing it out? Maybe we'll see it soon?

Default Its all about the rake my friend!

Most sites don't rake a 2/4 or higher pot unless the pot reaches 20. A 2/4 short pot many times will be 16 or 18. You get a rock garden table and they will not rake much in the hour. Infact if you are player you want tables like this as you can be assured of winning long run if you know what cards to play in the long run....

The rake unit and the cap is the same at 2-4 and higher up to some limit. The result of that is that the rake is always more when it hits in the lower one plays (though it's from the same $20 pot), and the cap is higher the lower one plays. One can run at least turbo simulations and see the rake, e.g. at SH 2-4 one pays at least as much rake per 60 hands as one pays at FR 2-4 games ($4 instead of $3).
