Re: Axs hand 6: please comment
I think you overplayed this hand. Why don't you just play it the normal way? Bet the flop, call a raise and check-fold the turn if you don't improve? On the turn you can lay it down. You have kickerproblems and the MP probably made his flush.

Re: Axs hand 6: please comment
bet the flop. worse hands will call, and you can't afford to hand out spades.

Re: Axs hand 6: please comment
I don't think this hand is anywhere near strong enough to check raise flop. Bet instead. After that I can't give advice without knowing how the table in general has been playing and MP1 in particular is playing. There is a huge difference depending on if he's a rock or a maniac, solid to clueless, or most likely, somewhere in between.

Re: Axs hand 6: please comment
Yuck, I see. That's what you get when you read 4 or 5 Axs hands after each other. Like I said, when he improved he should call. Just play these hand the normal way, I just don't like the C/R on the flop. His hand isn't that strong.

Re: Axs hand 6: please comment
I planned to check-raise here if the button bet, hoping to trap a bluff, and maybe get another weak ace to lay it down. Also, I charge the spade semi-bluff 2 small bets and often wipe out the caller in-between. I figured a good ace would have raised pre-flop. Is it reasonable to try this with this kind of hand on the flop from time to time? On the turn I think betting out is straightforward, although I get surprised by the button's raise (doh!). |

Re: Axs hand 6: please comment
I describe in my message below what I was trying to do with the check-raise. If player in-between had bet, I likely would have just folded. I think this was a reasonable player (not a maniac, not a rock). His raise on the turn was a lot of information. Should I fold it there? |

See my response to astroglide for my thinking on the flop check-raise. What do you think? |

Re: Axs hand 6: Results
Board: 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I have 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] for two pair on the turn. MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] hits his flush on the turn. Duh. |
