Default Intertop Poker

Does anyone have a poker account with intertops? I signed up and about an hour later they called my house and started asking for all my personal information. They said it was to confirm my account. Just wondering if anyone else had this experience. I found it a little annoying and obtrusive. I guess if it is really a security measure it is okay, but I could hardly understand the man who called and it worried me a little. any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,
TheRake

I have an account w/ InterTops and that did not happen to me. I wonder if it is a random audit. If I were you I would bitch like hell and say I've talked to other players and this had never happened to them. It's crap that they are asking for this kind of stuff.

It's never happened to me. To my knowledge, it's never happened to anyone I've kicked the RAF bonus back to.

Possible reasons include:

1. New procedure
2. Random Audit
3. A new deposit policy that mirrors the cashout policy in ease and quickness

In any case, you should definitely follow up on this one.

Hmmm... This may be the same call I've received after signing up at party and skins (party and empire both generated a call for me), where I was asked to confirm quite a few details of my account. In both of these cases it was a one time thing, no further calls, and no problems cashing out or anything.

That type of thing would worry me.
I do not beleive that to be a standard procedure and would
call (hopefully they have a 24/7 phone support), and confirm that the call was really from them.

I would not give any info to them over the phone, unless
I returned the call to the posted number on the website.

Default Same here

I have also gotten these confirmation calls within an hour of opening accounts at Party, Empire, and Intertops Poker. And I already had a longstanding Intertops sports account.

I've also had a similar call when I opened a casino account run by the same company. (Starluck?)

I assumed that everyone got these calls.

Nope. Got a call like that from Party to confirm my existence and to offer me $10 if I would apply for "preferred membership" by submitting more identifying information.

Must be a standard practice. No idea if anything you did triggered a call. Maybe your last name or username starts with an M and they just got to you on their alphabetical list.

Maybe you have behaved suspiciously!!!

At Party, my first few times, I only played the minimum number of hands required to get the bonus. And then I cashed out immediately. And Party was the first skin to call me. So perhaps that kind of conduct raises suspicion.

I have never gotten a call from Intertops.

The fact that I have probably played on Party less than Inthacup, but that I have gotten a call, leads me to believe it may have to do with my quick cash-outs.

Inthacup, do you tend to leave a lot of cash online?

Yes, that was exactly my reaction when Party called me. At first I was worried it was some type of scam, though I don't see how a non-Party person could have gotten my number. Though a Party employee or insider could run such a scam.

Anyway, I confirmed a couple of innocuous things, then told the lady, well, if you are really with Party, you should have that information. So you give me part of the info, and I will complete it, which proves to me that you are Party and already have it, and which proves to you that I am squiffy and know this squiffy-type info.
