Default 25-50 shorthanded online

Hey everyone. Suits not important here, feedback appreciated.

Folded to me on the button I have AA and raise. Only SB calls. I just got to the table, don't know too much about him.

Flop comes K63. He checks, I bet, he calls.

Turn pairs the 6. He checks, I bet, he raises, I just call.

River is yet another 6 for a board of: K6366

I'm starting to like my hand again. He bets, I raise, he re-raises....

Anyone cap? Anyone fold? (lol)

It's an easy cap, but no matter what don't fold.

i think the mistake, if any, was not 3 betting the turn

if he capped the turn then i would be comfortable just calling the river - and if he doesnt cap the turn i will invest heavily on the river

I would cap and expect to see a big K in his hand 40% of the time and the beautifull 33 20% of the time.

I like the call on the turn since:

1) He's likely to fold most of the hands you are ahead of. But might continue a bluff/semibluff on the river.
2) He's likely to cap when you are behind and it's damn hard to lay down AA in this spot.

Hi All_Aces (is this pokerroom by any chance??)

So you raise from the button in a shortthanded game so the SB puts you on any two cards. The flop comes K high and the SB is liking his K. He'd probably check raise a 6 but there is only one overcard to his top pair. He didn't 3 bet so you can rule out KK. 33 is a possibility but most players 3 bet the SB in this position if they are going to play a small pair.

The turn is a 6 and you are check raised, I'd still like my AAs and 3 bet shorthanded given the betting but a call gives you the chance to raise the river if a K doesn't fall.
River is a 6. 6x and KK beat you but if you cap a Kx will call. I'd raise and if he shows you 76s cest la vie.

Cap. If he has a 6, God Bless Him.

I think everyone is neglecting a set of kings for kings full as a likely holding. If he had a lone K in his hand, he would probably 3 bet or fold pre-flop. Our action has already said "king" or better" load and clear. Why does he let the BB play? I would expect to see KK or AA from the SB much of the time, and the case 6 less often - wouldn't a 6 generally make a move on the flop, forcing overcards to his pair out?

Capping is out of the question, and I think we have a crying call here. If not, he overplayed his hand and already gave you extra action, enjoy it.

Hey everyone, thanks for the responses.

[Pilchard, yes indeed, it's me, and I'm worried that u can get into my head like this. I really should have a different username here lol....]

I went with the DanZ school of thought, which was to make the river call instead of cap, fully expecting in a dramatic way to see the case 6, and less dramatically fearing the KK.

I called the 3 bet, he showed KQ, and I took it down.

I wasn't sure about the right play here, which is why I posted the hand. The different opinions about the hand make me think that there's no 'sure' play here, which eases my mind a bit. I was feeling like a bit of a wimp. Well not really, I was feeling pretty damn good.

So, I missed a bet, but got plenty of action.... every cloud.... silver lining.... thanks for the responses.

Pilchard, please don't read any more of my posts.

Its funny how often your opponent 3 or even 4 bets with a best-case-scenario tie. You're representing nothing less than a K on the river, he says, "Hey, I gotta king too, lets jack it up."
