Default Big move NLHE tourney

There is a thin line between bravery and stupidity, I think I may have strayed to the wrong side of that line with this hand.

NLHE last 17, 9 get paid I am on a six handed table. Most of the chips are on the other 2 tables. I have 15,500 (which is below average overall but is the 3rd largest on the table) The player to my left has about 25,000 followed by 2 players on about 9,000 table chip leader about 40,000 and the player on my immediate right has 9,000. The blinds are 1600 800.

I am in the BB with Ah10h all fold to the chip leader on the button who makes it 5000 to play SB folds. The chip leader is starting to run over the table, he is raising at least once every round and frequently on the button. This is putting me under pressure and while there are three short stacks at the table none of them are so short stacked that I can really take too many liberties in stealing their blinds particularly as I have to bet through a bigger stack to attack their blinds.

I am at the point where the blinds are too big for me to constantly fold to his raises and I feel the need to play back. On an earlier hand I was dealt QQ in the BB and re-raised his button raise he folded AoQo so I am sure he will fold AJ & AQ 2 hands which dominate my A10. Hence I re-raise all-in. This is a pretty massive raise but the way I see it is anything less might get called and if I have read the situation wrong I may need to see all 5 cards to give me a chance of spiking an Ace. He ponders for a while calls with Jacks and out I go.

I have thought about this hand and I really cannot make up my mind if I made the right move but my timing was wrong or it was just plain dumb.

Your thoughts please.

Default Re: Big move NLHE tourney

I've never played a multi-table tourney so my opinion is just about worthless . . .

But IMO it was bad luck, not bad play. If you think he's being overly aggressive, AT isn't a horrible hand to make a stand with. I mean, if he folds your stack size is increasing by 50%.

I await correction .
