I have mostly made my money playing low limit hold'em.
I was bored today and sitting in class decided to crunch some numbers. If a person playedfour $30+$3 games an hour, they would have the following hourly rates based on their ROI%... ROI% Hourly Rate 15% 19.80 20% 26.40 25% 33.00 30% 39.60 35% 46.20 40% 52.80 These are some pretty impressive numbers. What is a reasonable ROI% expection for $30+$3 SNGs at Party? It seems that 20% should be within easy reach. |

40-50% is doable, but 4 an hour is optimistic, since you should be playing 80-90% of them to 4th position at least, which takes around 1/2 hour. Playing to the end could take close to an hour. If you play two at the same time (timed so that you arent shorthanded in both at the same time) you may get close to 4, but you will lose some of your edge.

When playing 5 or more or when I end up being heads up in more than one of them it gets troublesome though. |

I am currently playing in three $10+$1 at a time and I figure I can easily play in four of them an hour. Im assuming the $30+$3's are a little tougher but I heard the difference isnt all that much.
Im around 35% return right now and I feel I have lots of room for improvement. I feel that my play early (first few orbits until theres 5-6 people left) is pretty solid. After that I think Im playing too passive. I need to play more hands instead of waiting to get to the money. Plus if I do get to the money Im short-stacked. I need to play to win. Im hoping to move up to the $30 level next month and would obviously be thrilled with a $46/hr win rate. We'll see. |

IMO 40%-50% ROI is not realistic at the $30+$3
Maybe the games I have played in have just been tight. But I feel that the skill level increases big time from 10+1 to 30+3... |

My Party $30 SNG ROI is about 25% over several hundred tourneys. I've improved during that time, but also gone from 1 at a time to usually 2. I've tried 3 here and there, but it gets to be a little much for me.

Yes 25% sounds reasonable. The idea of 40-50% at Party doesnt sound viable to me at all. If someone could win 50% ROI and played 3 games an hour, they would make 93,000/year working 40 hours/week.

Yeah I've been through similar calculations and it makes me wonder why I'm working.
I know others are doing better than me, but I agree with you that on Party, with the crapshoot tourney setup, 50% ROI seems tough. |

Man, if I played in four SNGs simulataneously, with my high blood pressure...I think my aorta would explode

Yes, and if a man took 4 wives he could, in theory, have 4 times as much great sex, on demand, without any attendant drawbacks or difficulties!!!
