this is spam. If a guy wants to know how an affiliate program works, you can answer that question. you cannot try to get him to sign up with you. if i see another post like this you will be barred instantly. the only people that i will allow to push a personal referral code are those that offer to give 100% of it back to the player.

Wouldn't the better track to take have been to PM the poster directly saying "you were asking..." instead of using the forum to draw attention?

I realize now what I wrote could be seen as self promotion.
I have gained more and more respect for the members of the forum during the last few months I have posted and hope to continue contributing to it in a positive way. As for you Mr Skalansky, I admire the work you have done and know for a fact that I would never have gotten as fast to where I am now in terms of my poker career if it wasn't for your books. I just thought he was inquiring about my offer buy than realized that he was probably just curious about the affiliate program in general. I will be smarter and more careful about what I post from now. -Eugene |

In Eugene's defense I think he's changed his attitude signifcantly over the last couple months (i.e. started to contribute over spam). While it's obvious he still has an alterior motive, he's higher on the food chain than most of our random spammers that show up. I agree this was a bit out of line, but hopefully his pledge to be more careful in the future will be upheld.
peace, jHE PS - That's Matty Sklansky...not David. One is a poker guru, the other is (I think) a bartender(?) and an internet spam destroyer. |

hey eugene, feel like helping start a "Spammers Anonymous" program where we can enlist PokerAdvantage, OffTilt, and all their alter egos, along with any of the new spammers who can't win money playing online poker but just discovered the beauty of affiliate programs?
it would be nice if the net had some police service that would look for sites with no useful content and deleted them. |

Promoter, I don't think what you are doing will make you any money, ever. You have a horrible reputation here on this site and I doubt you will find any players here who will sign up through your site. On the other hand what you could do is spam chatrooms, message boards etc. This may not seem profitable, and it isn't really but you will get about one person/hr to join if you work hard at it. Seriously, if you really need the money (your posts and the fact that your site is hosted by a crappy free hosting service suggest you really do) try this. I have told my friend from russia to do it and he has about four players in 3 days now and has made about 20.00 This is a lot of money for that country and is probobly a lot of money for you.
