Default AQo in the BB, Button open-limps, SB raises

$50 Party NL SNG. Blinds at 15/30

Button has 1035, SB has 1645, I have 965

Folded to the button, who open limps; SB raises to 250; I have AQo in the BB.

I've seen the SB raise big once so far (11 hands) and he flopped a set with JJ.

I like to raise button open-limpers with lots of different holdings, which makes me think less of his raise. But, it's a little early for that, given that a limp is all of 30 chips and his raise is pretty huge. Also, button open-limps are usually either crap, or AA/KK.

I fold

Are your 3 handed with blinds 15/30? If you are, I think you should have called and seen the flop. AQ 3 handed is pretty good.

If you get rags you are left with about T600, and with blinds so low, you can still play a tight game, without worrying about blinding out.

I think we were 8-9 handed, it was folded to the button. Were it 3 handed, I probably would have raised all in.
