Default Royal Vegas Poker - is this a scam?

I recently signed up with Royal Vegas Poker to take advantage of their advertised 40% initial deposit bonus (up to $40). So far I have not received the bonus, and have not received a reply to my e-mail asking when I can expect to see it in my account. What I have received, however, is an e-mail telling me that they will not allow me to make any cash-outs until they have received a faxed copy of my drivers license. Has anyone ever encountered this on any other poker site (becuase I haven't)?

This is beginning to smell like a scam to me. I'm very reluctant to send them a copy of my drivers license, but I hate to lose the money I have in my account. Does anyone have any advice for me?

If I do manage to get my money out of them, I'm through with Royal Vegas Poker. The software is the worst, and the games are by far the slowest I've ever played at (and that includes Pacific). Plus, it's hard to get a game, even during peak hours. Do yourself a favour and stay away from Royal Vegas Poker.

I've actually been quite impressed with RoyalVegas. While the software may not look the flashest - I found it fast and reliable with some good features (certainly not slow). I got my $40 bonus plus the free $10. I think you have to bet something like 5 times the bonus to get it (not certain of that). It arrives within the 24 hour period (not instantly) I played at a $5/10 table and it cleared very quickly. Actually it was the first time I played at that limit. When I saw someone win with a Queen high with two callers - I was in. There aren't always lots of games but some good ones. So I don't think it's too bad a site at all. I haven't tried withdrawing yet.

I'm glad you've had a better experience there than I have. I agree the games are pretty easy; maybe I'm just mad because it looks like I'm not going to get my money. Let me know what happens if you decide to cash out. I just don't feel right about faxing them a copy of my drivers license. They keep telling me that they're audited by PriceWaterhouse, so I shouldn't be concerned. Am I just being paranoid? Would anyone else send a copy of their drivers license to them?

I e-mailed a scan of mine. My feeling is they keep records to prevent bonus abusers (this is because its a networkof about 5 sites). Maybe I should have been more careful - it'd be interesting to hear what others think about this.
I dont think they are a scam - from their games (ie. no bots) to their customer service (quite fficient) -all seems ok to me.

It's not a scam, i've withdrawn $8k from that network under a different casino but same network. I had to proivde photo ID, ulity bill and a picture of the credit card i used. All the casinos under that network have the same policy.

Crap, this is what I was afraid of.

I signed up for thier free $10.00 and have managed to parlay it to over $100. As part of the bonus, to collect any of it, you need to make an additional purchase. I haven't read further as to how much that purchase needs to be, but now I'm leary about doing anything right away...but to sacrifice $100... bleah

<font color="red"> NO. </font>

If I'm buying in with Neteller I will not send any site a copy of any personal identification. There are just too many other sites out there that don't require this kind of documentation where I can play. They have their policies and I have mine. I do really appreciate those on the IG forum who bring these things to light as it ticks me off to no end when they are only revealed to players after they've signed up.

You mean like Golden Palace Poker/Old West Poker?

Seems they fit this description perfectly.
