David and Mason,
i understand that craps is a house game with a set percentage advantage for every bet, but I have seen a lot written over the last few years about dice setting and controllled throwing to slightly influence the occurance of key numbers like the 7. Do you think this is possible? Also, if someone practiced setting and what he/she belived was a controlled throw, how many throws would he/she have to throw to evaluate the percentage appearance of the 7 and have the test run be statistically significant? |

It is possible to control the dice so that numbers you favour appear. John Scarne writes about this in his book, Scarne On Dice. However, all the casinos protect against this by insisting that the dice hit the wall of the craps layout and pass over a line. It might be possible to pull off such a move in a private craps came. Scarne talks of a move where the dice were thrown into the crease where the craps table wall met the craps table proper but if it is in print from the 70s it will not be possible to pull off such a move now.
