Default Another strange hand.

Im in the BB with Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Prefolp:
UTG calls, fold, fold, mp calls, fold, fold, fold, sb calls, I check.

Flop: T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Sb bets, I call(bad/good?), utg calls, mp calls.

Turn: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
sb checks, I bet, utg raises, mp folds, sb folds, I reraise, mp caps.
River: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
I bet, he calls

Did I play this right? I am thinking the flop call was pretty loose. Can you put him on a hand at UTG?
thanks in advance.

The flop call is fine. Relax.

Double gut-shot and one overcard. Call it.

sorry my post was screwed. UTG capped on the turn not the mp.
Anyway MP has J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and wins the pot with jack high straight. I would have never guessed j8 I figured him for JJ.

I would always at least call with that flop. I would actually raise with it about 2/3 of the time. Just like I would with an oesd or four flush.

Nah, the flop call was fine. You had a double gutshot straight draw (effectively an open-ended straight draw, though neither of your draws is to the nuts) and an overcard. One could even argue that you should raise to get a free turn card (or bet with a chance to take it down if it's heads-up) and to clean up your Q outs.

Can you put him on a hand at UTG?

He probably turned the straight as well (most likely for a chop, but possibly with J8 for an outright win). When you bet the river after the third flush card came, he probably figured that raising with his straight was futile as you are either chopping or have him beat with 8xd.
