tight, aggressive Commerce 15-30
I call a MP open-raise from the BB with KJs. Head's up. We're strangers. Flop is JJ6. I check-call the flop. Turn's a blank (rainbow) and I check-raised - he 3-bet. I call. River is a king – I bet out and he raised. I 3-bet. He folds. |

hi bk
looks like middle pocket pair or QQ, maybe AA. there are lots of hands that this opponent could have played like this, but if he's reasonable, i would lean toward his holding AA or QQ. but middle pocket pair is very possible. |

y guess is he had either made a small full house or pocket AA, AJs or QJs, or even TJs.
AJs and QJs was most possible hands he hold, I think. Given so much action on turn, he would not reasonably raise you again with AA. Thus, possible holding, in order of chance: AJs QJs TJs AA |

I know, I saw his post and thought "damn, he beat me to it". QQ most likely.

Hey BK,
I'm going to take the road less travelled and guess AK. I recently played a hand that was very similar to this one. I open-raised from MP, got called by a BB who plays well, flop was a paired board, he check-called, turn was a blank, he check-raised, I 3-bet and he mucked. My holding? 98s (no pair). My point is that a 3-bet here is routine with any two cards against a good player who sometimes will check-raise bluff and release his hand when it is no good. Thus, I don't think that his turn play necessarily helps to define his hand. On the river, I think that he thinks that BK is the one with the pocket pair (or maybe a worse king) and that he is raising for value. But, when he is 3-bet, he knows that his hand cannot possibly be good and lays it down. Obviously, QQ makes sense as well... As a side note, would anyone laydown a jack to BK's 3-bet? What about a hand as good as QJ? ML4L |

By the way my opponent reacted to the flop, I actually put him on a jack. He kind of stuttered like he wanted to slow play and then bet anyway with a funny look on his face. Being the pre-flop raiser, AJ was a strong possibility that the turn action supported... when he 3-bets I'm thinking I need a king on the river. I just can't see laying down a jack for one more bet, but I really think this guy did. I would have just called AJ/QJ. |
