$22, Wait for a better hand to push at level 3?
I tend to wait for pairs of at least 77 or better, but I was getting a little desperate because we were 8 handed near the end of level 3 and I figured I needed to get the chips now to have a reasonable chance for ITM. I was very concerned that the 3 behind me were also getting short and one of them would call with a wide range that, at best, puts me in a coin flip.
I figured that if I just call and then get a lousy flop (picture cards) I probably have to fold to a bet and that would cut me down to $493. Was this too loose? Should I be happy with a coin flip when getting this desperate? What would be a good minimum requirement to push with in this situation? (The three behind me were on the tight side, but I often see these types get loose when on short stacks.) Thanks. This is perfectly fine. You can't wait for 77+ or AJ+ when you are this short and its been folded to you in the CO. I push this every time.
