Default Yet Another Hand

Same game as before ($25NLHE, Party), different table. $23 stack.

I am OTB with A [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img]
UTG limps, call, raise to $1, cold call, folded to me and I cold call. Blinds fold and UTG and UTG+1 call.

FLOP: A [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img]

Checked to me and I bet $1 (should have bet more?) UTG calls, fold, call, fold.

TURN: J [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img]

Checked to me and I bet $2. Both call.

River: 5 [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img]

Checked to me. Check it through or bet?

Preflop fine. On the flop either a check or near pot bet. I would have checked, someone could be slowplaying a small flush and there have to be some lone spades out there drawing who aren't going to fold.

Check the river, someone with a 3 has you beat and you will only get called if you're behind if you bet.

What was I thinking....well, I figured that everyone was drawing on that 4th spade that never hit and when the river didn't help I was up against busted draws. Fraid not. I bet like an idiot and the next player moved all in ($15). Of course my ego said told me he was trying to steal and I called. He showed 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for the flopped flush.

If you were in his position, wouldn't you have tried to win the pot either on the flop or the turn? In any event, I should have checked it through.

Check. I may be too cautious, but you dont want to be check-raised by someone with a 3.
