He minraised me quasi all-in. I have to call 100$ in a 417$ pot --> I need a 23.9% Chance to win to break even. Against set: around 12.5% --> fold, if he could only have a set Against two pair: 29.09% --> even with two pair I have to call, because of my bet at the flop Against KK, QQ, AK flushdraw, Straightdraw (highly unlikely) folding would be a catastrophe. Two questions: a) Do you call against totally unknown player? b) Do you play the flop the same? Or do you try a check-raise, because you have the Ace of clubs, which makes flushdraw less likely + redraw outs? What if you didnt have the Ace of clubs? |

Re: Common AA flop situation
Given stack sizes, this is an easy all-in.

Re: Common AA flop situation
Yeah thats for sure, I have to call his final bet. I already realized this myself.
The more interesting question is if a check-raise allin line is better than a bet / call line here |

Re: Common AA flop situation
3-betting pre-flop then checking the flop can almost never be right.

Very easy push considering the preflop action

[ QUOTE ]
Very easy push considering the preflop action [/ QUOTE ] You mean overbetting the pot by pushing all-in with an 208$ all-in in a 107$ pot? Which hands do you expect to call, which do you expect to fold? |

Re: Common AA flop situation
He's referring to the action on the flop I believe. After he comes over the top of you all in is the only play. No broadway cards hit the flop. If he hung around with a smaller pair, nothing you can do.

Re: Common AA flop situation
3-bet all in on flop is standard. Unless he flopped a set you are a favorite (can't see two pair here after pre-flop action). The only thing that is cause for concern is button cold-called two raises and then a 3-bet. That screams pocket pair. Hopefully it's JJ-KK.

Re: Common AA flop situation
Yeah when he raises you you don't have any choice but to push the rest of your chips in the middle, which is what I meant. If he has TT then so be it, he's getting my stack everytime

Re: Common AA flop situation
You all realize that 3-Bet all-in is only 8$ more in this hand? Just wanted to clarify.
I agree that if I bet 100$ at the flop, and he raises me all the money has to go in. The question however is, if I should bet the flop at all and rather go for a check-raise all-in? KK, QQ etc... would still bet, TT will of course also bet. But maybe I could get a bet from some low pocket pair, that would have folded to the beat. It seems to me that betting 100 and then calling all-in only gets me action from KK,QQ,Flushdraw and hands that beat me. |
