Default 2 Questions including one chat related

Hadn't been at table long but I have 175 hands on villian and he is 32/10/2 although stats almost irrelevant for this hand. He's SB and I am BB. 5/10 6 handed

Folded to SB who completes. I have 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and rap
8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
He bets

Honest to god the first thing that went through my mind is 'this is one I have to post'. I know a lot of people here just like to pound from the get go with the mentality of no one believes anyone else.

HU it is unlikely he has the flush draw. Also unlikely he has a better 8. I don't see the upside in raising the flop. I decided to wait until the river to raise if he kept betting - unless another spade fell on the turn.

So that's my first question. What is your plan on flop?

I just called.

7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

He bets. I now figure it is ok to raise and he will call with a 7 or a 4 or a big spade or any pair or a lot of things because I am probably bluffing the flush.

So I raise. He reraises and types in the chat:
have pair 7 u sure u gonna do that

I absolutely 100% believe him. Ok maybe 95%. Pretty much anytime anyone tells you what they have in that situation though, they have precisely that.

So I have 3 fours and 1 eight left in the deck. Even if I am sure I can get 2 bets out of him on the river should I hit, that's only 9:1 on a 10:1 shot. (44 unknown cards if he has 77)

he is asking you if you're sure you want to do that with two pair, eights and sevens.

his statement should read: "you have a 7? you sure you want to raise with it?" or maybe he's saying he has two pair. honestly that line is vague... did he really open complete 77 in the sb?

and your outs against 77: 1 eight, 3 fives, 3 fours.

Unbelievable I forgot about my 5

Easy easy call at the very least then

I took his chat to mean he had 77 in his hand (and he did have it)

yeah the thing is that turn 3bet is either total BS or he has you beat. I think you make just as much off worse hands by letting them bet at you again on the river.
