Default Fold flop or call down?

I hate these spots. Anyone think I should have raised the UTG bettor here? I figured I could raise a safe turn card, but when the passive BB check-raises both of us, its hard not to put them on an 8. Thoughts?

BB is 48/5/.9 UTG 62/0/.9

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (8 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, Hero calls, SB folds, BB raises, UTG calls, Hero???

Everybody thinks that you should have raised the flop because you will have the best hand almost every time here.

Agreed. But the board is very uncoordinated, and its very unlikely that giving a free card will hurt. Any hand I am ahead of, I will likely be ahead of on the turn. I don't think I am losing value by waiting for the turn to raise. I am certainly open for discussion though.

Hmm...I think this point has some merit. I definitely like it HU or 3 way. I'd really hate to give a free card to an A or have somebody hit a pp. However, the chance of that alone isn't really worth missing out on te extra SB(s). I guess the best reason for raising this flop is that people are more likely to call 2SB cold, than 2BB cold.

I'd like the call on the flop if the pot was just a 1-2 SB smaller. In this scenario, you offer a naked A 10:1 to call, which is not all that incorrect, depending on how we figure their implied odds. As this pot gets bigger, I'd rather raise it up. As you played it, I think you can call the raise and reevaluate on the turn. Your implied odds for filling up are pretty decent here, and the pot is big. Without a postflop read on BB, a lot of players like to slowplay trips to the turn, so this could reasonably be 99-TT, given his low PFR.

Of course not. I'm taking this to showdown almost always, barring crazy action. But looking back at it, what could the passive UTG and BB have when they bet and check-raise each other. I think I am good here almost never. Even with that being said, I would probably always call down, just to be shown an 8, like usual.
