Default data base getting to big?

I am running Poker Office and Empire Poker at the same time. I have noted that my computer is lagging and the hard drive is being constantly accessed. I have about 6000 hands and have not converted the database yet. Could this be causing this. The best I can explain it is that it acts like AOL used to do your machine in the days of Windows 95 and 32mb of memory.

Well do you have a fast computer with a good hard drive? My Pokertracker database has 20k players in it and a ton of hands from myself and it doesn't lag much.

Any reason you prefer Pokeroffice?

6k hands is not a lot at all. Your problem is probably something else.

Run linux. Microsoft is the devil. It isn't free software, and their code sucks.

Yes to all questions. See solution below if interested.

I got it for free. I have purchased PT and I am in the process of getting used to PT.

My problem was apparently the java based data engine that poker office uses. Lots of issues on thier web site. I changed over to Mysql and it solved my problem. FYI - if you change over your data engine be sure to NOT CHECK the CONFIGURE box when you are setting up mysql for Poker Office. I do not know if this is required for PT.
