How would you play this situation
If you have a middle pair and are pretty sure that another player has overcards, would you bet hard and heavy if you knew he would call you down to the river even if he didn't hit? or would you slow down and try to save a couple bets.
I know it's bad thinking, but I got beat by the river three times in a 20 minute span last night. So, I'm rethinking my strategy. Thanks BTW, this is micro limits .25/.50 |

Re: How would you play this situation
bet bet bet... especially if you have on overcard with a middle pair as you may make 2 pair when he hits one. you have to charge them to draw out on you and if it happens...oh well, next hand.

Re: How would you play this situation
As long as your fairly certain of your read play it fast and hard, if he is first to act and bets into you on the flop you might be better off just to call than raise him on the turn hopefully getting him to fold to one more big bet with only one card to come.

Re: How would you play this situation
If you are sure that your opponent has unimproved overcards on a rag flop (no straight possibility), then you should keep betting into him as he has only 6 outs.
Heads-up, would you bet into a flush draw (9 outs) or straight draw (8 outs)? Your EV is even greater when you bet into someone with just overcards since they have less outs. -- Homer |

Re: How would you play this situation
If you are more likely to win the hand than your opponent, then almost always you should bet unless you expect him to bet for you.
