How to handle the hyper aggressive
Playing in a 10/20 game with several very loose hyper aggressive players - who seem to raise and reraise with over cards or middle pair. How to handel this heat?
EP HAP raises EP HAP2 cold calls I cold call in MP with 99 Two LP players CC Flop 26J rainbow EP HAP bets EP HAP2 raises Having missed my set - is this an easy fold? If I am going to play should this be three bet or simply mucked - frustrating to see these guys run over the table with bluffs and crap? I folded - other |

Re: How to handle the hyper aggressive
You can't play 99 against these guys if you're going to fold on that flop. If your don't have the gumption to 3-bet pre-flop and 3-bet the flop, then just fold pre-flop.

Re: Adding to the question
While I agree on the pre-flop 3 bet my question is: Why shouldn't you fold on the flop? There is a J on the board. Even maniacs get "good" hands now and then plus there were 2 "cold" callers in LP. There will be only about 18 SB in at the time he has to call so there wouldn't be pot odds to call unless you figure implied odds, which I am not good at. Am I wrong here?

Re: Adding to the question
you also have to figure possible raises behind your call also. but depending on who's betting, a raise can gain you some info. if it was a more solid player raising you can fold easier. but why give little respect about a maniacs raise preflop, THEN give him credit for a hand post flop? true you have to take into account a solid players cold calls, but you also have position to knock them out of the pot. this may also freeze the maniacs from betting (depending on how they view you as a player)

Re: How to handle the hyper aggressive
Not 3-betting preflop was a big mistake against this crowd. It leaves you out of position facing a bet and a raise on the flop with a marginal hand.

Result
I folded on the flop
Two late position callers folded Split pot - between two maniacs both show AQ for ace high hand - very good starting hands for these guys. The difficult thing was that with more than one hyper aggressive player - they were constantly forcing people to call two cold and you are always risking them getting into a raising war. - This more aggressive play is the hardest thing to adjust for in moving up in limits. Thanks for the help. |

The problem is calling two cold. 3-bet or get out of the way, especially with position. |
