Default AA laydown

Loose passive $8-16. My table image is that of a tough tight player. I get black aces in the cutoff. MP limps, I raise. Both blinds call, MP calls. 4 to the flop.

Flop is K [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] . Checked to me. I bet. SB raises. BB cold calls. MP mucks. I call planning to raise the turn if a scare card doesn't come.

Turn is 4 [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] (K [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] ). SB bets. BB calls. I raise, SB 3-bets. BB mucks. I have played with SB before, and I believe I intimidate him and I am fairly certain he has a set, probably 5s (although I have seen him defend a his live $3 button drop against a preflop raise with 52s, so his preflop call doesn't significantly narrow his range of hands). I call believing I have 6 clean outs.

River 7 [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] (4 [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] ). SB bets into me and I fold.

I've seen players at these limits play AK this way so many times that I'd call the river bet in a sec w/ a big pot like this. If you're convinced that he would re-raise pre-flop or not 3-bet the turn without more than AK, well, good fold.

I think you three bet on the flop. How do you know the SB wasn't check-raising with a King? From there if he four bets I check and call to the river due to pot size. If he calls and bets into you on the turn, same thing. If he checks on the turn either check to induce a river bet. Getting check raised on the turn is tough because you'd have to figure that he can beat top pair and thus, probably your AA.

One thing to also is what does he think you have? Do you only raise with only premium hands?

Well you know the player and that should make a difference. However, this is just the type of thing I have done in the SB with AK. It's an easy muck if I miss and often make an extra bet or two if I hit. I've doen this many times at the same limit , lost very few hands. I think a call on river is in order. Tho you may be beat. 1 BB for this size pot could be a disastrous fold. You don't need to win very often to show profit.
