Default Some players are just baffling.

Weird tournament hands seem to be the norm at the $5 sit and gos on Poker Stars
I don't seem to have any way to explain this one other than the BB reading me for an outright steal with nothing and eventually believing me.

Second level, 15/30 blinds, one stack eliminated, relevant stacks even (~1500).
I'm in the SB with Q [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img]. Folded around to me, I make it 90 to go from the SB. BB calls.

Flop comes 5 [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] . I overbet the pot (270) hoping to fold the flush and or straight draw. BB calls.

Turn: 7 [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] , a little scary, - club and/or 8 beats me. I pull back a bit, and bet another 250, about 1/3 the pot. BB calls.

River: K [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] . If he has a [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img] , a 8, or a K i lose. I definitely chicken out and bet 200.

He folds!
What is going on? What could he have?

Who knows, sometimes people play all kinds of hands crazily. Look at my recent post "gettin' jiggy in the BB with 92o" and you'll see what I mean. I think he had A7 with the ace of spades. At least that's what I think since I'm trying to make SOME sort of sense from his play. Who knows though, he could have had anything. Be glad you won the pot.

I would say definitely the A of spades. Other than that, I don't know. Maybe an offsuit J and he thought you were betting overcards until the river?

Who knows?

But in addition to the other replies, I would put TT and JJ in the mix of possibles, although I think A(s)T, AJ or even AQ, then A7, A6 are more likely. With the high-middle pair he probably plays back some on the flop if not the turn.
