Default What Exactly Is Considered An Ace Rag?

Is there a general concensus at Two Plus Two for exactly what is considered an ace rag?
In SSH Ed Miller says:
"We also sometimes use the term 'ace rag.' That denotes any hand that contains an ace and a small, unspecified side card, such as a trey or a six."
The book also gives a general recommendation not to play most offsuited aces (A9-A2).
Would A9, A8, or A7 be considered ace rags? I consider them to be, and also generally don't play them. Do the pros call these hands "rags?"
