Default Did somebody help me here?

CO is 12/5, although he just returned to the table - aggressive post-flop

MP2 is playing 70% of hands in his first few orbits

Thoughts on calling here?
I am most interested in what folks would do if the other guy did NOT call ahead of me, as he made my odds.

I would have called that anyway. For $20 it's way too easy for someone to push without having a straight. Unless you are darn sure he wouldn't move in without one.

I'd raise pre-flop here. But to answer the question asked...

CO could have a straight or a lower hand he's trying to protect against a scary board. If you think he'd push with a set or 2 pair the math is.

A made straight 56, 6T or TJ = 48 combos
2 pair 87, 97, 98 = 9+3+3 = 15 combos
lower set 77, 88 = 3+3 = 6

1st case you are improving to FH or quads about 1/3.
2nd 2 cases you are so far ahead let's just say you win.

Overall your chances of winning are (48/(48+21) * 1/3) + 21/(48+21) = just over 50%

Dan Harrington says there's always at least a 10% chance he has nothing. I guess I'd call without MP2, but I wouldn't like it much.
