Default Here\'s a hand I played wrong...

...but I think I know how to fix it.

Online $1/$2. I'm in the big blind with K [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img]. UTG folds, UTG+1 limps, UTG+2 raises, two middle position players call two cold and it's folded to me. Getting 5:1 and sure that UTG+1 will not reraise, I call. Do other people fold here?

Flop is K [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] 3 :heart. And here's where I screw up. I check. I immediately realize I should have bet right out and hoped that UTG+2 raised me. Even though this flop is about as undrawish as they come, I've got a vulnerable two pair and I'd like to get the others out. Anyway, I check, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 bets, the two middle position players call, I call (deciding not to check raise because it will just give the others incentive to stay if they pick up a draw on the turn and planning to bet out to try and fix my mistake), UTG+1 folds.

The turn is the 8 [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img]. I bet out, all fold to the second middle position limper who calls.

The river is the 5 [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img]. I check, theorizing that if he completed a draw I'll only lose one bet and I might induce a bluff if he missed. This is more or less my standard play in situations like this, unless my opponent is especially passive.

So, aside from my brain spasm on the flop, did I make any other mistakes?

Since you fail to bet the flop, you should go ahead and check raise on the flop and bet the turn. I hope your opponent didn't make the flush on the river.

hi incog
you should raise the flop and bet the river. if you raise the flop, you may get reraised driving out the players between. if they stay on, you're in the lead and your hand can improve. nothing not to love there.

the pre-flop call out of the BB is fine. at 10-1 you can risk a UTG reraise.

whether you check or bet out on the flop depends pretty much on whether you have been betting out into the field with hands like this and top pair. if you have been, then checking is fine. but you must raise not only to try to get HU, but also for value. you're best here incog, and you need to be raising.

Checkraise the flop and 4 bet if it gets 3 bet. Bet the turn. Bet the river.

Yes you did. Bet the river.

Additionally, although your opponent might have a flush here, most back door flushes come from top pair/back door flush combinations. Because the top card on the board is used in the flush, he can't have that combination. This makes the running flush even more unlikely.
