Default Simple question about a straight on a 4 flush board.

1000 FPP round 1 WPT satellite. Top 5 get seats in round 2 tournament which awards 3 seats to a WPT event. At this point there are about 18 people left.

What's my line? I'm depressed to see a 4th spade on the river, but I don't know if it's best to check/call, check/fold, small bet + fold to a raise, push and hope he doesn't have a spade? Suggestions on flop / turn? I felt awkward the whole way. No special reads on Villain, as he just moved to the table a few hands ago. Thanks.

when a 4-flush hits i prefer taking initiative and firing out a blocking bet.

I probably check the river, and check fold unless a small bet is giving me serious odds.

I don't like the 1000 bet on the river at all, if you're going to fire there, it should be enough to get a weak spade to fold.

Hand looks good to me, I don't think I could have played it better.

I try for check/check on river and fold to a bet. You're in a situation in which basically all hands that beat you call and all hands that lose to you fold. Also, a lot of players check behind on this river without a spade, so you won't get bluffed off the hand too often.
