Comfortably in the money...then this hand comes up
I think this is the first hand I've ever posted here though I read this forum just about every day.
This was from the Empire 5K last night, about 40 players left, top 30 make the money. I believe the avg stack was approximately 3500 at the time. My feeling is that I don't care about squeaking into the money, I want to make final tables. I felt like Villian might be trying to steal with a flush draw...with that in mind, how was my push here? Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t300 (9 handed) converter UTG (t3390) UTG+1 (t2377) MP1 (t4589) Hero (t4947) Villian (t3630) CO (t2410) Button (t2656) SB (t9136) BB (t3090) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 3 folds, Hero raises to t600, Villian calls t600, 4 folds. I felt like Villian might be trying to steal with a flush draw...with that in mind, how was my push here? [/ QUOTE ] if that's what you really thought he was doing then the push is OK. but I think once he reraises you, your AJ is probably not the best hand. Do you really think he'd raise that much of his stack with just a semi-bluff flush draw? |
