Casino whoring has helped my poker attitude
I thought this post may be helpful to some. I recently moved, and while my monitors were packed up, I spent a week or so casino whoring on my laptop. Coming back to poker, i've found that it's done wonders for my poker attitude. Aside from feeling refreshed and ready to get back into from taking a week off, casino whoring has helped me with a couple of things.
I mostly play SNGs and have been working on my limit game. During this time, I've had bad problems with tilt. I've been decent about recognizing and getting up before it hurts my bankroll, but I'm still losing time I could be using to play and getting into a bad state of mind. Since casino whoring, the tilt factor has been greatly reduced. Playing a neg ative expectation game has helped me to be much less results oriented in poker. The other thing casino whoring has helped me with is learning when to press small edges. Playing a negative expectation game for a bonus can give you a small edge over the house with a high risk of ruin. It's helped me to pick my bets wisely and mke the right decisions for my bankroll. If anyone has problems with this sort of thing and has the bankroll to handle casino whoring, give it a try, it just might help your game. |

Re: Casino whoring has helped my poker attitude
I second this.
After the Party/Skins debacle I figured it was time to open my mind to the fact that they were not the only thing going. After spending some time in the Internet Bonuses forum I started hitting the Blackjack bonuses. Easiest and most stress free money I have ever made. Also, as one who got his start in gambling counting cards, it has been kind of nice to play again after only doing poker for the last several years. One interesting thing is that when I am running poorly I do not get as angry as I do with poker. It helps to know that the 17 card 21 that just cracked my 20 was simply a randomly generated occurence. There isn't some zit faced punk laughing with his 15 year old buddies on the other end. Plus, one does not have the second guessing (assuming one knows basic strategy) that is associated with poker decisions. A few words to the wise, though. Know your terms and conditions. Also, realize that online casinos generally do not pay out as quickly as poker rooms. Avoid any sites which seem remotely sketchy if you sweat the dough. |
