What limit holdem book to read first
I've been playing holdem for some years.... now, my mother's taking an interest in it. Its been so long since I read a "beginner's" holdem book, that I don't know what books to reccomend to her.
So, what books are best for a holdem newbie? Thanks -B |

Surprised someone didn't come in here and berate you for not doing a search....haha....it's OK though - search around cause there are tons of posts about this.
Basically, what you'll find: -Getting Started in Hold'Em - Miller -Winning Low Limit Hold'Em - Jones After these: -Small Stakes Hold'Em - Miller and others. |

Re: What limit holdem book to read first
I would also suggest "Internet Texas Hold Em" by Matthew Hilger.
ITH and SSH should cover almost all the bases for you, if I could only choose 2 out of the "Big 4" (vs. GSIH and WLLE). For NL and tourney beginners, GSIH is tops. if it's your mother reading, then GSIH might also be the least intimidating read, though not necessarily the most efficient overall for fixed limit. |

Its written by Ed Miller, the man whose writing influenced Lee Jones into releasing a 3'rd edition of his book Winning Low Limit Hold'em (which is not as good as Ed's Getting Started in Hold'em for the basic fundamentals of the game).
