Default This is how huge the WPT and poker has gotten

So I went to go see the chick flick "In Her Shoes" with my girlfriend on Saturday night. I'll admit to enjoying it, and not just because of some rather glorious Cameron Diaz moments. It's a nice enjoyable movie.

But what's really relevant to this forum is that the WPT is all over this movie. One of the more amusing roles is that of Francine Beers as Mrs. Leftkowitz. And guess what? Not only does she wear a World Poker Tour hat throughout the whole movie, she actually watches the WPT on TV. I believe the episode they showed was Howard Lederer's win at Foxwoods in Season One.

You know the WPT and poker is big when its getting into chick flicks.

WPT probably negotiated some deal to use some product placement

Yeah -- and also apparently the movie's director is also the director Lucky You, which I think has some poker content.

From what I've been reading recently, Cameron Diaz has become very interested in poker, so maybe she had a little influence of the placement for In Her Shoes.

I heard people play for real money nowadays too, I bet that makes things interesting. I'd never play at a gambling site myself, although the "World's Largest Poker School" sounds like fun for the whole family!

Cameron Diaz would maybe make Celebrity Poker Showdown watchable. Maybe.

Poker is frigging HUGE. I don't give a damn what the naysayers of 2+2 say, it ain't dying any day soon. If you walk into any department store, there will be display after display of poker clothes, accessories, WPT card tables, DVDs, chips, you name it. Hell, even at the Books-A-Million I went to last Friday, everywhere I turned it was poker poker poker.
