Default Scooter sucks

Anyone else annoyed by that stupid talking animated baseball that Fox has to explain what different pitches are? Are there really that many newbs watching playoff baseball who don't know what a changeup is, or wouldn't be able to figure it out in a little while?

Yeah Scooter is brutal but so is Steve Lyons and so is having three broadcasters. Do we really need a coach in there as well as a color guy to go with the play-by-play guy.

And what happened to having some hot chick on the field. Gotta be a disapointment for the players.

I dunno about you, but the reporter that interviewed Chris Burke after Game 4 of the NLDS was SMOKIN' HOT.

And they need to hire Al Leiter to be a play by play NOW. He's great.

Scooter does blow...

the pitches that they show don't even break how they would in reality.

They show a curve and it comes in straight, then zoomes down and away... give me a break.

A true Curve is constantly curving.

Ummm...

Is this supposed to be serious? A curve ball continues to build up pressure through its rotation and velocity untill the pressure pushes the ball. It's not a looping curve, it's a bite.

No, sir. The "bite" that you see is due to gravity.

The ball rotates at a consistent rate from the time it leaves your hand to when the catcher catches it. Although gravity is constant, it gives it the appearence of "late bite".

Look at Zito or Wells's curveballs. They curve from the moment they let it go. You just don't notice b/c they throw it "up", and by the time it gets to home, gravity is has pulled it way down.
