Default Thoughts on Oswalt +135?

I'm really thinking the Astros are the play tonight. Here's why:

1: Oswalt has turned it on big time since Sept. 1

He turned in a 4-1 September with a 2.48 ERA, including a big time showing in a 3-1 win over St. Louis (7 IP, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K's).

2: Oswalt flat out burns it up in St. Louis.

Last four starts over two seasons in St. Louis -

26 IP, 27 H, 8 ER, 3 BB, 22 K - 2.77 ERA; 1.15 WHIP, 3 W

You guys know as well as I do, certain pitchers love pitching in certain parks. St. Louis is one Oswalt loves...I don't see any reason why he doesn't throw a gem.

Seems like too much of a valut to pass this one up. I like Oswalt and the under tonight. By the way, nice 8th run last night!!!

Thoughts?

Interesting, no discussion of St. Louis?

As last night's ALCS game showed, you can pitch a gem (Washburn and company) and still not get a win (even not considering the controversy).

Let's not forget that Oswalt was 8-10 on the road this year, mostly due to the fact that Houston is a horrid road scoring team.

It looks like Mulder also likes pitching in St. Louis, going 7-3 with an ERA a full run lower than his overall ERA. His career numbers against Houston are excellent, 2-1 with an ERA of 2.72 in five starts.

I think St. Louis should be favored in this game, and +/- 130 doesn't seem totally out of line. The under could very well be good, though I never count out St. Louis's ability to score big runs in the playoffs. They're a machine.

I'm laying off here too. Seems close enough to fair. I'm tempted since Mulder got hit in the arm and it was sore. But this line isn't showing me enough to jump in right here. There have been (and there will be) better edges down the road,

I just bet my roommate for the Astros to win at 3-1 odds in my favor. Good bet?

Aside from the fact Oswalt dominated ...

Mulder looked good. He pitched a gritty game which was surprising after all the pitches he had to throw in the first two innings.

Tavarez needs to go. La Russa should just shoot him and move on. That guy is just gasoline in the post season, and his head isn't in the game.

Edmonds really hurt the Birds tonight (Aside from his catch)
